Minmet is introducing a new blended EBT Sand, used to fill EBT Furnace Nozzles. The product called "Free Open 50" . It will improve Free Openings performance over the traditional Natural/Synthetic Olivines. For those Mills using Silica, and experience excessive wear around the Taphole, Free Open 50 is a must. Minmet introduces Lignite Coke to the North American Steel and Foundry Industries. Lignite Coke is a premium Recarburizer with ultra low Nitrogen and Sulfur that quickly dissolves into the melt. Lignite Coke is much more economical than Graphites, Needle Cokes, Desulco, and pellets. Lignite Coke has been used extensively by European Mills for several years. July 2002 - Minmet markets a naturally ocurring mineral used by Steel Mills to Fluidize thick/crusty slags. This Mineral is called "Nepheline Syenite" and is Priced at $125 US/NT FOB Pittsburgh for 20 mesh material in Bulk Sacs.
